TWO YELLOW DOGS AVAILABLE

We are so excited to announce that Wildnook have their first litter of Labradors about to hit the ground after working and owning the breed for many years, we couldn’t be more excited! What makes this litter even more special is that we own both parents - we have put our well renowned and loved stud dog Jake to our sweetest girl Novie to produce pups that we believe will be perfect all rounded, ‘proper’ Labradors. Both dogs are working dogs, but also much loved family members. They have been paired together perfectly as both carry the nature and drive that is ideal for that easy going, yet driven dog. Novie carries a lot of drive, but is desperate to please you. She’s the dog you never have to correct and is just effortless. Happy to be with you, whatever you’re doing, she’s the perfect companion. On days working in the field she goes from not knowing she’s there because she is so relaxed and chilled, to a stand out marked retrieve in seconds when you ask her to switch on work mode. Jake is very much the same, and this is why we think together they will continue to produce the dream. Jake is an experienced worker at 7 years of age and everyone who meets him falls in love in an instant. With pups all around the world, from America to Germany, he’s a sought after boy and we’re so excited to finally put him to a dog in our own kennel. Jake is the go to for whatever we’re doing in the field whether it be walked up shooting, or even loading in the grouse butts! He’s the dog that forever impresses the guns with his relaxed but focused nature, but handles a dream with just the right amount of drive that never lets him stray far from perfect. He was entered in a test for fun a few years ago and despite this being something he’d never trained for and only took part due to another dogs injury, he came away with a COM finishing 5th out of over 30 dogs. This describes him perfectly, as he is just that dog who works with you in the most honest manner. We have also had many a relation to Jake ourselves and in the family, his line being true to the same nature everytime which is why we cannot wait to have offspring of his, keeping from this litter ourselves. Both dogs are fully health tested with great results. We do have a waiting list however we do not go off first come first serve but rather ‘best fit’ homes. There is also an option for puppies to be kept with us to go on to our bespoke part trained/fully trained programme at an additional cost.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
