Description

A lovely traditional litter of Labrador Retriever puppies from working parents. Dam is Greenfox Helium.  Pip has proved to be a sensible very hardworking bitch in the beating line, picking up and standing on peg.  She has plenty of drive and is not afraid of brambles putting some spaniels to shame.  It’s often commented she looks like a dog as she is of such a traditional old fashioned working style and a broad head.  She is really sensible with an excellent “off switch” and a dream to have in the house as a family pet with adults and children as well as other dogs.  Pip loves nothing more than a snuggle on the sofa and a stuffed pheasant to carry when she hasn’t got the real deal.

The sire, Leadburn Dandy of Greenfox was carefully selected to compliment Pip, he is a strong dog with plenty of drive and pace. He is a Scottish dog, bred by world renowned Billy Steel Snr. Jimmy is Fully Health Tested and certainly lives up to his breeding he’s medium in size, compact in structure, a handsome dog with very good confirmation and strong broad head. He has bags of natural ability and will smash cover without hesitation, a very focused dog in training.

Both parents are tested and have been hip and elbow scored, BVA eye tested (results on kennel club website).

The puppies will be ready to go to their new homes from the 29th August, they will be microchipped, vet checked, wormed, first vaccine, puppy pack inc a bag of food and the 5 week free insurance.

2 yellow (bitch and dog)

Black girls and boys currently available.

The litter is whelped inside a busy family home, the puppies will be well socialised with people, children and our other dogs.

Any questions most welcome.  Please be advised I will ask lots of questions, it is of great importance that the puppies go to the right homes.  The security of our home and dogs is also of upmost importance!

Price £1500.  Deposit 50% Bank Transfer.

🐶 Buyer’s Checklist for Gun Dogs

Whether you’re buying, selling, or studding a dog, it’s essential to take the right steps to protect yourself—and the animals involved.

  • Always meet the dog in person at the breeder’s home or kennel—never agree to buy without seeing them first.
  • Ask to see the puppies with their Dam (mother), and the Sire (father) if available.
  • Verify all paperwork:
    • Kennel Club (KC) registration number
    • Date of birth
    • Health screening results
  • Prepare questions to ask the breeder. Some helpful ones include:
    • Did you breed the dog(s) yourself?
    • Can I see where they were bred and raised?
    • How old is the Dam, and how many litters has she had?
    • Was the birth natural or via C-section?
    • Are there any known health issues?
    • Can I see documentation for both Dam and Sire?
    • Will the puppy be vaccinated and wormed before purchase?

  • If something feels off, walk away. Don’t ignore red flags.
  • Ask for advice from a trusted third party if you’re unsure.
  • Take your time. This is a big decision—don’t rush it.

  • Puppies should appear happy, healthy, clean, and curious.
  • You should be allowed to see and handle all puppies in the litter, not just the one you're considering.
  • Never buy a puppy younger than 8 weeks old.
  • Avoid any puppies that show signs of illness—e.g. runny eyes, weakness, or diarrhoea.

  • Is the whelping pen clean?
  • Do the dogs have access to fresh water, clean food, and adequate space?
  • The living conditions can say a lot about the breeder’s standards.

  • Ensure you receive the KC registration form and all relevant documents at the time of payment.
  • Write up a simple contract to protect both buyer and seller—especially important in case circumstances change.
  • Never agree to buy a puppy in a car park or public place. Always go to the breeder's premises.
